Welcome to the Cretan Olive Garden

 Iwonas Ferienapartment ist ein absoluter Traum! Absolut empfehlenswert! Die Wohnung ist wunderschön und mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet, es ist alles da was braucht. Das Bett ist sehr bequem, die zwei Terrassen sind super schön, der Pool ist sauber und gepflegt genauso wie die ganze idyllisch begrünte Anlage. An und zu zirpen die Grillen ihren typischen kretischen Sound, ansonsten ist es schon ruhig und man kann toll entspannen. Die Lage ist auch perfekt.Man ist in fünf Minuten zu Fuß im kleinen Ortskern, in 25 Minuten zu Fuß (oder in 8 mit dem Auto) am schönen Sandstrand. Der Standort bietet sich hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt für Touren in alle Richtungen: Chania, Kournas See, das weiße Gebirge, Rethimnon etc etc. Iwona und ihr Mann Tomasz sind sehr nette Menschen, sehr erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Ich werde defintiv wiederkommen :) August 2022

 "We would highly recommend this property without hesitation. The village of Gavalochori is a gem and the inhabitants very friendly. There are 3 tavernas in the centre. The apartment itself is on the ground floor in a small complex of perhaps 8 to 12 properties located about 350 metres from the village centre. Many of the flats are owned and used by residents. The complex itself is beautifully maintained and set in an extremely quiet and peaceful location with a view of the mountains. There are 2 private terraces to the apartment, one just a few metres from the good sized pool. The present owners have recently carried out a full refurbishment and the decor is both tasteful and practical. The apartment is extremely well furnished and well equipped with just about everything you could need including a Nespresso machine (plus pods), cafetière, hair dryer, sun beds, beach towels, ironTV, WiFi…. the list goes on and on! There is a new fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom, though compact, has an excellent double bed and a/c. The only thing to note are the mosquitoes, and even though a UV lamp is provided, the use of insect repellent, spray and mosquito coils was found necessary (early October). We were enthusiastically received by Tomasz and Joanna who look after the property and were extremely helpful at all times. It is worth pointing out that a hire car is essential for this location."  "Die Unterkunft war wirklich traumhaft schön gelegen, mitten im Olivenhain. Das Dorf Gavalochori ist wundervoll, um Kreta authentisch zu erleben. Es gibt den Hang herunter fußläufig drei Tavernen, in denen man lecker griechisch essen kann. Auch zum Strand kann man laufen, aber es ist ein ca. 40 Minütiger Fußmarsch (wir hatten ein Auto, um die Gegend zu erkunden). Die Wohnung ist wirklich total sauber und sehr schön eingerichtet, es war auch alles was man braucht in gutem Zustand vorhanden (das einzige, das ich vermisst habe, war leider eine richtige Kaffeemaschine). Wir haben einen wundervollen Urlaub hier verbracht!" September 2022

 We had a truly wonderful holiday - definitely a 5 star accommodation. Iwonas apartment is in a beautiful setting! So peaceful and yet within short walking distance to the lovely village of Gavalahori. The apartment is extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is equipped with all you might need, and more. The bed is very comfortable and there are plenty of towels. Iwona has obviously put a lot of thought into her property. A guide book with tips and suggestions for sightseeing was a great inspiration for days out. Operating instructions for appliances were gathered in a folder, together with telephone numbers to caretakers, Tomasz and Joanna. We were met and welcomed by Tomasz and Johanna, who showed us round the property, and presented us with a welcome tray of local produce. We had a couple of minor questions during our stay, and Tomasz replied very quickly on both occasions. We can highly recommend a stay in Gavalahori- a perfect base for a holiday. ☀️ May 2023
